Darwin, Singer Book Cover
The book cover for my upcoming dystopian young adult novel Darwin, Singer is hot off the presses, thanks to illustrator Jamie Harper over at Smallwoods Studios. Check it out below:
The design features the main character Darwin Singer, a musician in a world where the only legal art is made for strictly educational purposes. In this world, fiction doesn’t exist, there are no sci fi movies, and no one’s ever seen a ballet that didn’t illustrate something like proper job interview etiquette.
Another very important character, Brax, also makes his way onto the cover, handing Darwin a very important piece of technology, a media drive that could get both of them thrown in jail or worse.
Both characters wear their state-mandated gray clothes, but if you look closely, you can see bits of color in their outfits (dress-code violations). Like the media drive, those bits of color could get Darwin and Brax in some serious trouble.
Friday Links — New Year’s Resolution Edition
In keeping with the theme of new beginnings and resolutions to try new things, this set of links focuses on making your world a better place.
My favorite link of the week — The Phone Stack. Brought to us by Kempt, the phone stack is a simple idea that could make a huge impact on the way we interact with each other in person, while being connected to the rest of the world via our devices. At dinner, everyone stacks their phone on the table face down. The first person who answers picks up the tab!
